Fixed or wireless data solutions for homes and home offices is something that we are asked about a lot.
Typically, if we are involved early on in a new build, we always recommend putting a mixture of fixed ethernet in strategic locations and WiFi access points across the property for wireless network access.
The second most important area for rural locations is the performance from a fixed network carrier such as BT. With low speeds and more home working during COVID-19, it was found that performance of the network is absolutely crucial to SMEs and home workers. To solve the issue, we have installed more 4G broadband solutions in the last year than we have done in the previous 4 years. We recently installed a 4G solution where the 4G network was providing 51mbps broadband! That's faster than most people get on a fixed line in a city.
BT announced that in 2025 all residential telephones would cease from the PSTN network and be replaced with digital VoIP telephones. Are you ready for the change? What does it mean to you?
